When installing i select FSX Steam, all other options are grayed out. As a result i get no addon manager menu ingame, not even shortcuts in ´s like they weren´t installed at all. Looks like the installer is still looking for the FSX-SE folders when those no longer exist. And now comes the problem: when i try to reinstall my FSDT products i get two errors (see the attached pictures) reinstalled FSX Steam, this time correctly, getting FSX folders as result. Decided to uninstall everything, and this time clean my computer of everything FSX-gold related Started running into problems due to my installation (some products don´t like FSX-SE folders at all), with lots of crashes and unstability Installed many of my addons, including all my FSDT airports
As a result i ended with FSX-SE folders when installing FSX Steam (incomplete uninstall of FSX Gold). However i wasn´t aware of the quirks of FSX Steam if installed in a computer with an incomplete (registry and all that) uninstall of FSX Gold Uninstalled FSX Gold, including FSDT products (i have quite a lot of them). Decided to install FSX Steam edition after reading about its advantages. It detects Standard versus Deluxe SKUs and installs appropriately.

I had FSX gold installed on my pc, with addons and everything (due to real life matters hadn´t touched it in a couple of years). Download the service pack to the existing Flight Simulator X installation. I am surprised I don't need the DVD in its drive to run up FSX.I have switched to FSX Steam edition recently and after some trouble i find i´m unable to properly install FSDT products. Then installed Acceleration and was able to get the activation screen to appear allowing me to enter my product key. Following the instructions I deleted those leaving only PartMgr. I had several other values in the "Upperfilters" multi-string. Close Registry Editor, and then try to use the activation wizard. (mine said CLEANBOOT on one line and partmgr on the next, just remove one line leaving PartMgr as the value)ĥ. Change the value from 0 to PartMgr, and then click OK. After you find the folder, double-click Upperfilters on the right side.Ĥ. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\CONTROL\CLASS\ģ. Install the Acceleration expansion pack if you want. Install the game and then mount the second FSX Disc ISO. If you are using Windows 7, you need to install Daemon Tools or WinCDEmu (or equivalent) in order to mount the ISO's.

User Access Control permission If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow. Mount the first FSX Disc ISO by double-clicking it. In Windows Vista, click Startthe Start button, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit.exe in the Programs list. In Windows XP, click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then OK. All is good now! Here's what I found in case someone ever needs it:ġ. I finally found a Registry fix and IT WORKS. Overall it works fine, and addons and everyone else are usuable as normal. I have had a weird thing, where snapshots and pictures dont save to the folder, although that might be because Im not on the admin user.

I thought of asking the folks here, but still continued to look for a fix. I have FSX Gold Edition on my Windows 8 computer, and it installed with no problem. How have you been? I've been looking for an answer and found none.
